Sharam ke kafiat mai

Mai apnay gunahon ku jab shomaar karta hoan….

Bus Sharam say sir ku  jhuka laita hoan…….

Mai jab khali hath tha ALLAH ka bus sahara  tha……..

Naimatain paanay k baad sajdon say dour bhaaga…….

Ibaadatain barbaad hue aur rooh ku thais lage……

Namazain kharab hue duaon main asar na raha….

Naghma Sarai mai mahav Quran ke zarb o paish bhola….

Rangon ke dunya main khoya apna gird o paish bhola….

Aab ju shomar karon tu chaar so khasara hai….

Aur iss gunah gaar ku bus ALLAH ka sahara hai….

Ju takdeerain bigaranay aur sanwarnay ka hunar jaanta hai….

Meray dil mai WOH basta hai aur WOH he jaanta hai

Media Anchors, Band Baaja Group

Every day when i turn on my TV set there is a BREAKING NEWS waiting for me. Weird music, live footage, emotional anchors and expert comments are part of this recipe. Audience gets mesmerized all of a sudden and same moment start believing the running story is true. Such recipes not only mold the attitude of the audience but have played a significant role in shaping up our behaviors.

Recent war among these TV channels has resulted in a national depression situation where every Pakistani living here and overseas has developed a negative mind set about the prevailing situation in the country. For instance take the example of this recent incident of match fixing, Without finding the adequate evidence against our heroes they have started blaming them up to the extent where everyone have started cursing and abusing them. Now all of a sudden there is a gossip around about the insufficient evidence available against them for these spot fixing charges. It’s a matter of hours now when all these allegations would be proved a drama to spool their careers. Neither I have any personal relation with them nor do I believe that they are angels but as a true follower of the game situation has become very bad for the future of the game and for our country as well. Media is solely responsible for spoiling the image and trying their best to prove our cricketers guilty.

When we desperately need a media support for the flood affected peoples these anchors has created an embarrassing situation for whole nation. All the well known anchors excluding few have become a local band baaja group who perform on weddings in our system. One while following the other taking credit of breaking the news and portraying as if they are the best information source available for the countrymen. They are least pushed about the quality of airing content and our regulatory authority named PEMRA existing for no reason. Now just wait and see the U turn they would be taking very soon on this spot fixing issue when our heroes would be found innocent. As a true Pakistani I am getting annoyed day by day with these news channels. They are spreading anarchy and increasing frustration among 180 million Pakistanis. They are just a band baaja group working on their own agenda of fame and making money. True faces of these band baaja anchors would be unleashed soon.

The ignored National Language URDU

As soon as one hear the cell phone’s sms beap attention get diverted and hands automatically start chasing the mobile in the pocket. Helo, wazup, zup, whr, kia hu raha, kidr, kab ana etc. are the most frequently received sms. Neither it belongs to English nor can i find these words in Urdu Lughat (dictionary). We are approaching 100 million mobile subscribers according to PTA and my gut feeling says more than 95% use roman while writing a text message. About us who have crossed 30s still have some basic knowledge of the language and this might me true for the people in late 20s. I am extremely worried about the generation who are into their teens as they dont have the basic knowledge of the language and remaining is getting deteriorated because of the use of ROMAN.

Primarily the education system is responsible and secondary responsibility is with parents. This has become a common phenomenon to use Minglish (Mix of urdu and english) with kids in schools and at home as well. For instance a teacher asking a student " Baita aaj breakfast kia tha" or a mother calling " sweetu jaldi aao, papa door pe wait kar rahay hain". Remaining has become a victim of cellular growth and cheap sms rates. Now it’s a moral duty to keep your friends informed about every moment of your life through sms. Most of the sms are in Roman and rest of them are suffering from poor quality English (just like mine) .

We as a nation isn’t proud to communicate in our national language. I can’t find any urdu website where i can do blogging in urdu. I don’t write in urdu any more because i can’t type in Urdu over my notebook that means I also feel handicapped. We as a responsible citizens must communicate in urdu and if a software developer reading these line should come up with an urdu blogging website. If possible spend some time with your kids and siblings to ensure that primary language of communication should be urdu. However they should learn English as well to cope with the needs of dynamic environment

Flip Side of Radio channels and Anchors

26th August, 2010
Even after spending 12 years in radio industry i still remember my first inteaction with my colleagues. It was not encouraging at all rather they were surprised after getting my introduction. I have gone through many ups and downs during this period but yet i consider my self a success story. At one stage i closed my ears and remained focused on my work. It was solely due to the affection for the work and association with my audience.

I have received many requests recently to carry on my radio shows specially for FLOOD RELIEF campaign but i turned down all. The most important reason which may not liked by my colleagues and ex colleagues is the flip side of radio channels and anchors which is very different from what people perceive from voices. Voices not only deceive people but also take them to an ideal world where everything seem to be TRUE and PURE. Most of the narrated stories are fabricated and opinions  get changed the moment microphone is turned off. Hypocracy prevails loudly and most of the stakeholders are content. For the past few years this flip side has haunted me and hurted me badly up to the extent where i have concluded to stay away from this world.

I hope the passion i have lost because of sudden growth may knock at my door again and i would rock on the power waves. I also pray that all of us associated to this profession would remain the same as soon as microphone turned off and flip side would become identical to the real side.
